Clearer guides and tool pages

  • Guides explain the current file limits, compression tradeoffs and publishing checks, with corrected steps for Calibre and EPUB repairs.
  • Moving between tools opens the matching page and help. Files selected on the homepage still carry into their tool.
  • The AI cover page explains the Pro feature before you upgrade, while generation stays available to Pro accounts.

Epublys for Android 0.3.0: no daily limit, one-time Premium

  • Epublys Premium, a one-time purchase on Google Play that removes the offer for good. A Pro sign-in unlocks the app the same way.
  • Every file a tool produces lands in your Library, named after the book it came from; a chapter-range split is one EPUB.
  • The daily limit in the app is gone. Now and then, after a conversion, a Premium sheet appears; dismiss it and keep working.
  • Reader text no longer clips at the edges, and the app holds far less memory at rest.
web

Every operation finishes

  • Pro operations are now 30 MB, and every tool finishes at that size on the website, the API and the MCP server. It is the size we measured every conversion completing with room to spare, so a large book gets a result rather than a request that ends with nothing. The one exception is EPUB to PDF on an image-heavy book, below.
  • The API and MCP server hold far less in memory per request, so large conversions are the same size on the wire and lighter on the server.
  • EPUB to PDF holds the book, its pictures and the PDF in memory at once, so an image-heavy book past about 20 MB (a comic, a photo book) comes back with as many pictures as fit and a count of the ones left out, rather than no result at all. Split it first to get every page. PDF to EPUB says when it stopped extracting images at its output budget.

Checkout brings you back to your file

  • Hit a limit mid-task and upgrade, and you land back on the tool with your files still selected. The daily-cap and merge-cap panels now have a real button, show the reset time in your own time zone, and let you wait for the reset without losing your selection.
  • A scheduled cancellation and a failed renewal now each get one plain email from us, with what happens next and a reply-to a person reads.
  • Pricing leads with the monthly plan, which is what people actually choose; the yearly option is one click away. The plan cards list every tool by name, and the FAQ says what happens right after you pay and why the card statement reads REYSE, the company behind Epublys.
  • The comparison pages quote what Convertio, Zamzar and iLovePDF charge today, checked against their own pricing pages.
  • Bing, DuckDuckGo and the assistants that read them hear about a new or changed page within the hour, and the sitemap dates each tool page honestly.
web

Word documents become books

  • DOCX to EPUB. Upload a Word manuscript and download a valid EPUB: chapters from your headings (or your page breaks), pictures, lists, tables, links and footnotes all kept, title and author read from the document. No Calibre, no Pandoc. It is on the website, in the API at POST /v1/docx-to-epub, and as the docx_to_epub tool over MCP.
  • Creating an account now confirms your email with a 6-digit code before it exists, so nobody can register with an address they do not own.
  • The API and the MCP server run every tool through the same code, so a fix on one reaches the other the same day, and both now double-check every EPUB they build the way the website already did.
  • Setting a password stores it in a form that lets us raise its protection later without asking anyone to reset it.

Pro means the same thing everywhere

  • Ask an AI assistant to upgrade you, and it can. Point an agent at Epublys over MCP and it will hand you a checkout link for your own account when you hit a limit, so nobody has to go hunting for the pricing page. Any API client can do the same with POST /v1/upgrade.
  • Unlimited daily operations now really are unlimited everywhere. Pro lifts the daily cap on the API and on MCP, not just on the website, so an agent working through a stack of books keeps going.
  • The API reference lists what each tier actually gets, including the daily allowance, generated from the limits the server enforces.
  • Free tier limits have changed: 5 MB per file (10 MB for PDF to EPUB, 15 MB for split), 20 MB per operation, and 3 operations a day. If a file you used to convert is now over the line, Pro handles 45 MB per operation with no daily cap.

Documentation, and a say over your inbox

  • Proper API documentation at /docs. Every endpoint with its fields and defaults, the limits that really apply, and how to point an AI agent at Epublys over MCP. It is generated from the live API spec, so it cannot drift from what the API actually does.
  • You decide what we email you. The privacy policy now sets out which messages come with an account and which are optional, and anything optional carries an unsubscribe link that works without signing in.
  • EPUB to Markdown and Markdown to EPUB are now in the published API spec. Generate a client from it and you get all eleven tools, not nine.
  • Signing in no longer leaves an empty panel sitting on your account page.
  • The changelog is easier to reach, from the tools menu and from the homepage.
web

Sharper, everywhere

  • A full typography and layout pass across the site. Cleaner tool cards, better-set headings, and body text that sits where it should.
  • Night reading is warmer. The reader's dark theme now matches the Android app, so a book looks the same on every screen.
  • The tool list is about 380 pixels shorter on a phone. Same eleven tools, less scrolling.
  • Sync is quicker and sturdier, with half the database work every time you close a book. A session that expires now tells you instead of going quiet.
web

Cleaner conversions, safer accounts

  • Conversions now preserve every character, including anything inside angle brackets. Converted a book before 17 August? Run it again to pick up the fix.
  • The site's fonts load properly, so every page reads the way it was designed to.
  • Google Play subscribers get the full Pro treatment everywhere: badge, no ads, and no way to be charged twice.
  • Share a browser with someone? Your account page now has a one-click reset, so nobody else's highlights can follow you in.

Two new tools, notes that travel, and Sync

  • EPUB to Markdown. Turn a book into one Markdown file per chapter, with images, ready to drop into Obsidian.
  • Markdown to EPUB. The other direction, with no install and no Pandoc on your PATH.
  • Highlights and notes in the web reader, exportable as Markdown.
  • Sync (Pro). Your reading position, highlights and notes follow your account across browsers. Your books stay where they are.
  • Reader typography. Pick a font and line spacing on top of the existing themes.
  • A command palette. Ctrl+K (Cmd+K) from anywhere.
  • Sign in with Google.
  • This changelog.
  • Android reader: table of contents, in-book search, sepia and true-black themes, adjustable margins, and epublys:// links that open a book at the right place.
  • Android: send your highlights and notes to the share sheet as Markdown.
  • Pricing and tool pages quote the limit we actually enforce, which is 45MB per operation.
web

A full audit pass

  • Bookmarked tool links open straight to the tool.
  • The PDF reader is smooth across page seams and mixed page sizes.
  • Error messages say what actually happened, and rate-limit responses tell you when to retry.
  • Pricing and legal pages state the real enforced limits: 45MB per operation, 50-file merges.
app

Epublys for Android

  • The whole app. Six tools (merge, split, compress, EPUB to PDF, PDF to EPUB, metadata) running entirely on your device. No upload, no account, works in airplane mode.
  • A library with covers, reading progress, and one-file backup and restore.
  • A full reader: day and night themes, pages or scroll, pinch zoom, text size, highlights and notes.
  • Everything the website promises about your files applies double here. On Android they never leave your phone at all.
web + app

Backups you can trust, in every language

  • App: export your whole library, including books, positions and highlights, as one portable file you can restore on any device.
  • Books in Cyrillic, Greek, CJK and legacy encodings decode correctly everywhere.
  • App: a restore survives a damaged entry, and a new backup can never overwrite your last good one.
web

Answers instead of error codes

  • EPUB to PDF tells you up front when a book's script cannot be rendered, rather than failing generically.
  • The split tool explains why a file was rejected, which is usually because it is not really an EPUB.
web

A rebuilt in-browser reader

  • The in-browser reader was rebuilt and is now covered end to end by tests, so it opens your book and keeps opening it.
