Acceptance

By using Epublys ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. "The Service" means the website at epublys.com, its REST API and MCP server, and the Epublys app for Android.

What the Service does

Epublys provides online tools for working with ebooks: merging, splitting, compressing, editing metadata, and validating EPUB files; converting EPUB to PDF and PDF to EPUB; generating book covers with AI (Pro); and reading EPUB and PDF files in the browser. The same tools are available programmatically through our REST API and MCP server. All server-side processing is performed in memory — no files are stored.

Epublys for Android. The Android app runs its tools and the reader on your device. It requires no account and processes every file on your device. There is no daily limit in the app: from time to time, after a conversion or after opening a book from your library, a Premium offer appears, which you can dismiss and keep working. A merge takes up to 10 files unless you are Pro or have bought Premium, and file sizes are limited only by your phone, because nothing is uploaded. Epublys Premium is a one-time purchase through Google Play that unlocks the phone immediately; when a signed-in purchase or restore is successfully linked, the account can be recognised on other devices and the website too. A website Pro plan also unlocks the app when you sign in. The app talks to our servers only if you sign in — and only a current server-backed account entitlement enables the reading-data Sync described in our Privacy Policy. The tier limits and account terms below apply only to the website and the API. The app is provided under the same "no warranty" and "limitation of liability" terms as the rest of the Service.

You agree to use Epublys only for lawful purposes. You must not:

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process any files you upload. Epublys does not monitor, review, or take responsibility for the content of uploaded files.

Service tiers

Free tier: 3 tool operations per day, 5MB per file (10MB for PDF to EPUB, 15MB for split), 20MB per operation, 10 files per merge, 15 requests per minute. AI cover generation is not included. The in-browser reader is not metered and has no tier limit; above 30MB it warns you first, because the whole book is held in your browser's memory.

Pro tier ($9/month or $72/year): unlimited daily operations, 30MB per operation, 50 files per merge, 60 requests per minute, up to 30 AI-generated covers per month, no branding on output files.

Pro subscriptions are billed via Stripe. You may cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your billing period. These limits may change with notice.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that output files will be error-free, that the Service will be available at all times, or that processing results will meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Epublys and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss or corrupted files.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
